Andrew Gerber, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center and the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Co-Director of the Columbia University Developmental Neuropsychiatry Program. He did his medical and psychiatric training at Harvard Medical School, Cambridge Hospital, and Weill Cornell Medical College – Payne Whitney Clinic, and Columbia University Medical Center, and is a graduate of the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. He completed a Ph.D. in psychology at University College London where he studied with Peter Fonagy and Joseph Sandler, investigating the process and outcome of psychotherapy in young adults. His principal interests and research lie in studying the neurobiological bases of unconscious social processes, the development of mental illness in children and adolescents and how the brain changes in response to psychotherapeutic interventions.

Our treatment center, founded in 1948, provides a welcoming setting and friendly, personal service.   Expansion of our training programs enables us to offer treatment services to patients who would benefit from an  intensive (three times weekly) treatment or psychotherapy.  Our Interpersonal orientation has a pragmatic focus on problems in everyday life and the impact people have on one another.  Our affordable fees now start at $10/session for psychoanalysis and $40/session for psychotherapy.
