New Study: Integrating the PDM, ICD and DSM
Robert Bornstein, PhD, and Robert Gordon, PhD, invite you to evaluate their free, user-friendly, psychodiagnostic adult and youth charts that attempt to integrate the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual (PDM) with the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and/or Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). They are working on a psychological alternative to the medical model of the DSM.
They hope to offer a person-based nosology by integrating the PDM, ICD and DSM; this integrated nosology may be used for diagnoses, treatment formulations, progress reports, and outcome assessment, as well as for empirical research on personality, psychopathology, and treatment. Their overarching aim is to make psychodiagnoses more useful to the psychotherapist by combining the symptom-focused ICD or DSM with the full range and depth of human mental functioning addressed by the PDM.
Bornstein and Gordon are accepting no monies from this research and the charts are, and will always be, free. Please pass this on to any practitioners that might be helpful to this research.”
